Situated in the Sabi Sand Reserve, bordering on the world renowned Kruger National Park, is Thornybush Private Game Reserve comprising 11,000 hectares of pristine African bushveld. With the magnificent northern Drakensberg mountain range in the distance, the mixed woodland savannahs and riverine watercourses of Thornybush Game Reserve are home to a great variety of birds and mammals including the Big 5.

Accommodation:

Consists of 6 exclusive lodges individually designed to the highest standards of luxury and comfort. Themes vary from understated rustic comfort to ultimate luxury and all lodges have sparkling swimming pools and offer exciting game drives or bush walks.

Main Lodge
The Main Lodge is set along the banks of the seasonal Monwana River and comprises 20 luxurious double suites alongside timber decked living areas, library, and curio shop. The magnificent pool has pride of place with a well populated water hole as its backdrop.

n'Kaya
A combination of luxury and natural simplicity, the n'Kaya Lodge is a mixture of warm earthy tones and indigenous woods. The spacious double suites feature private lounges and twin en-suite facilities.

Serondella Lodge
With spectacular viewing decks overlooking well populated waterholes, Serondella Lodge comprises treetop hides linked to luxuriously appointed suites by suspended wooden walkways.

Jackelberry Lodge
With the majestic Drakensberg Mountains as a backdrop, this 10 bedded rustic camp blends harmoniously with the bushveld surroundings and combines superb views, prolific game viewing and understated comfort. Jackelberry Lodge is a paradise for birdwatchers as the surrounding bush is home to more than 250 different species of birds.

Chapungu Lodge
5 Air-conditioned en-suite tents and the Lodge are furnished in colonial splendour creating the ambience and elegant style of a bygone era. The elevated viewing deck provides scenic views of the active water hole. Guests have the opportunity to experience the culinary delights of Chapungu Lodge around the fire in the boma or in the classically appointed dining room.
