The Thorntree River Lodge is located in the idyllic Mosi Oa Tunya National Park in Zambia, Southern Africa. The lodge boasts breathtaking scenery, including beautiful river views and sightings of some of Southern Africa's most exciting wildlife on the Zambezi River.

Guests of the Zambian lodge can participate
in thrilling river activities, as well as elephant-back safaris along the banks of the Zambezi River. Thorntree Lodge's is situated within close proximity to the world renowned Victoria Falls, establishing it as a popular getaway destination.

Apart from the falls, Zambia is the location of the esteemed Luangwa and Zambezi valleys, as well as various picturesque wilderness areas.

Accommodation

Guests of the Thorntree River Lodge experience true hospitality in nine luxurious suites with private decks overlooking the Zambezi River. Each well-appointed room is spacious and private, with en-suit bathrooms and modern, convenient facilities.

Activities

The Thorntree River Lodge is the 'home of the elephants'. Discover Zambezi from the elevated elephant's back as you engage in one of these unique safaris. Safaris are conducted in the early morning or the late afternoon. From your vantage point on one of these majestic beasts, you are also offered the opportunity of spotting some of the area's variety of game. After the elephant-back ride, guests are encouraged to interact with the elephants.

Directions

By air

Passengers can reach Livingstone by flying internally from Lusaka on either Zambian Airways and or Proflight. British Airways, Nationwide, South African Airways and Kulula.com all fly to Zambia from Johannesburg ( South Africa ) direct.

By road

The closet city to the Thorntree River Lodge is Livingstone, which is situated 12.5km south east of the lodge on the Nakatindi Road. Access from Botswana is via the Kazangula ferry. Access from the Victoria Falls is across the Victoria Bridge link.
