Perched atop one of the red sand dunes that define the Kalahari, travellers will discover the Suricate Tented Kalahari Lodge. From this elevated position, beautiful views of the pan system forming the upper Auob wetlands tempt even the most discerning guest to stay at the lodge and take it all in. This proximity to natural Africa is combined with the ultimate in luxurious living, presenting ideal lodgings.

Accommodation at the Suricate Tented Kalahari Lodge comprises 12 opulent tents, nestled within the Kalahari savannah. A
private deck comes standard with each tent,
as does an open-air bathroom, with hot and cold water, a shower and toilet. The lounge area in each tent is typically African and overlooks the stunning African pans of the Auob River. Hot summer days are best spent on the pool deck, taking the occasional dip in the refreshing water, or sipping on cocktails and indulging in some snacks.
The Lodge

Open 4 x 4 vehicles are available for guests of the lodge to explore the Kalahari with experienced guides. Bushman trackers and qualified guides take guests on safari walks. After getting a real taste of the desert, guests will enjoy a relaxing dip or a refreshing drink in the lounge that overlooks the waterhole.

The Suricate Tented Kalahari Lodge is situated within the larger Intu Afrika Kalahari Private Game Reserve; 10 000 hectares of gorgeous wildlife sanctuary in the south-western corner of the Kalahari Desert. This reserve runs along some of the Auob river system, which originates from Namibia, and is distinguished from similar offerings by its red sand dunes that run parallel to one another. These are home
to a small amount of vegetation that is unique to these dunes, making it a very special experience. Between these dunes are green plains inhabited by the iconic camelthorn tree. These lush areas are retreats for the animals requiring
shelter and vegetation.

Intu Afrika has embarked on a predator re-introduction programme, which guests
of Suricate Tented Kalahari Lodge are encouraged to experience. Walking the Kalahari with a bushman tracker provides a fascinating insight into ancient traditions, survival secrets, and history.

Other activities available to guests of Suricate Tented Kalahari Lodge include game drives in Intu Afrika Game Reserve, dune sundowners, and quadbiking.

Location

Suricate Tented Kalahari Lodge is situated on district road D1268, Intu Afrika Kalahari Game Reserve. From Windhoek, travel on B1 to Rehoboth, heading towards Kalkrand. Before Kalkrand, turn left onto the C21 and travel for 48km.
Turn onto D1268 and proceed for another 22km. Intu Afrika entrance gate appears on your right.
