Sibuya Tented Camps

EASTERN CAPE LODGE
ADDO ELEPHANT NATIONAL PARK

Sibuya Tented Camps promise visitors to South Africa an authentic safari in the most beautiful of surrounds. It is located just 140 kilometres from both of the Eastern Cape towns of Port Elizabeth (Nelson Mandela Bay) and East London, South Africa. Sibuya has its reception area within the holiday village of Kenton-on-Sea. From here, guests are transported by boat to either the River Camp or the Forest Camp with the supervision of experienced guides. During this half-hour boat ride, turtles, dolphins and even whales may be spotted at the river mouth, where Kariega flows into the Indian Ocean.

This camp retreat is known for having more navigable river than any other South African game reserve; famous for its more than 400 species of birds that benefit from its lush banks. The rest of the reserve is also well-populated by some of Africa's most exciting wildlife, including the Big 5 (Elephants, Lions, Rhinos, Buffaloes and Leopards).

The success of Sibuya Tented Camps is attributed largely to the experienced and committed staff members. Professionalism and a genuine passion for the environment is a common trait amongst rangers, waitrons and management alike.

Accommodation

Accommodation at Sibuya Tented Camps is luxurious, despite its somewhat rustic location within riverine forest. The amenities are designed and constructed to be of benefit to the natural resources, ensuring that the camp has negligible negative effect on the forest in which it resides. Both the River Camp and the Forest Camp offer tented accommodation. These facilities combine an African lifestyle with quality and style.

The River Camp
The River Camp comprises four spacious and comfortable tents measuring 25 square metres, ideal for families or couples. Each is equipped with an en-suite bathroom, private deck and a king-bed or twin beds. Parents may request camping beds or cots for children sharing a tent with them. An all-weather roof ensures that guests stay dry and cool, while the hammock lures guests to be part of their outdoor surrounds while taking in the stunning view of enjoying a good book.

Forest Camp
The tents of the Forest Camp are perched atop wooden decks that are raised from the forest floor. Each tent is accessed via timber pathways that wind through the forest and are wheelchair-friendly. The Forest Camp tents measure an impressive 40 square metres and have en-suite bathrooms, camper beds, king-size or twin beds and private decks.

This camp is on the Kariega River's banks and is committed to having as little an impact on the environment as possible.
