Part of this initiative involves the use of a GreenCab, which is a transport medium that uses LPG and BioDiesel as fuel, rather than petrol or diesel. The GreenCab is owned and run by women and has resulted in as much as an 87% decrease in the emission of harmful emissions. All drivers are uniformed, professional and experienced. Guests can conduct tours or transfers using these environmentally responsible vehicles.
Another step taken to aid in the preservation of our valuable environment includes 'green' gifts, mementoes, menus and bar menus. The menus are printed on paper that was made using old beer labels, while pens and pencils have been created using plastic shopping bags, newspaper, cardboard and so on. Accommodation The Protea Hotel Victoria Junction boasts 172 stylishly-appointed rooms. Of these, 24 are Loft Apartments, 72 are Standard Rooms, 74 are Superior Rooms and two have been designed for the physically challenged guests. Rooms equipped with twin- or double beds have interleading doors so that families or groups of up to four people are accommodated comfortably in what is essentially two adjoined suites. All rooms have en-suite bathrooms, extra-length beds, executive desks (with a fax modem power point and an international plug adaptor), high-speed wireless Internet connectivity, hairdryers, electronic safes and refreshment stations for tea and coffee.
