Phinda Game ReservePHINDA GAME RESERVE, 5 STAR LODGE KWAZULU NATAL LODGE ACCOMMODATION Situated in the lush Kwazulu Natal region in the north of South Africa is Phinda Private Game Reserve. This reserve is a winner of prestigious ecotourism awards and comprises 14 000 hectares of prime conservation land between the Mkuze Game Reserve and the World Heritage Site Greater St Lucia Wetland Park. Seven distinct habitats occur in the Phinda Private Game Reserve, home to a varied abundance of wildlife including Africa's Big Five (lion, leopard, elephant, rhino, buffalo) and over 380 bird species. Well known for its marine diversity, the nearby coast of Sodwana is said to rival the Great Barrier Reef in Australia. Accommodation Phinda's lodges and Walking Safari Camp offer high standards of comfort and style in the African bush. Phinda Forest Lodge: Unique architectural design with conservation in mind is evident in luxurious hand crafted suites. Situated deep in the heart of a rare dry sand forest, the Lodge consists of private stilted suites, a sparkling rim-flow swimming pool, luxurious dining and sitting areas surrounded by an expansive viewing deck with panoramic views of the game-filled plains. Phinda Mountain Lodge: Each private suites feature spacious en suite bathrooms, sitting areas and spectacular viewing decks. Guests have the option of exciting game-drives, bird watching from the pool deck, or simply relaxing in the lodge's comfortable sitting area with its great vaulted ceiling and enormous fireplace. |

Phinda Vlei Lodge: This exquisite lodge is private and elegant comprising six thatched suites with en suite bathrooms, dressing rooms, private plunge pools and decks overlooking the water. Here guests have the opportunity to view herds of grazing antelope and zebra as well as a wide variety of birdlife. Phinda Rock Lodge: This unique lodge overlooks the valley and comprises six stone and adobe suites with en suite bathrooms, private sitting areas, decks and plunge pools. Activities / Facilities Phinda Private Game Reserve offers exciting game drives in open 4x4 safari vehicles led by experienced rangers and Zulu trackers, as well as the following thrilling optional activities : Scuba Safaris: After a 15-minute flight and short drive guests can experience one of the top ten dive sites in the world. The reefs of Sodwana Bay support approximately 1200 species of fish and spectacular coral formations. Deep-sea Fishing: After a 15 minute flight to Sodwana Bay a short drive takes you to the 25-foot sport fishing boat rigged for bill (marlin and sailfish), game (barracuda, yellowfin tuna and kingfish) and shark fishing. Maputaland Beach Adventures: A 15-minute flight and a short drive in a specially designed 4x4 beach vehicle takes you to the beautiful beaches of Sodwana Bay. Enjoy a delicious picnic in a secluded spot and then snorkel, swim or simply sun on the endless stretch of unspoilt beach. Turtle Night Drives: A 45-minute drive from Phinda a beach ranger will introduce guests to one of the wonders of nature - loggerhead and giant leatherback turtles making their way up the beach to lay their eggs. Flight of the Fish Eagle: Experience a spectacular 60-minute flight over the diverse Maputaland wilderness of scenic pans, coastal lakes, bushveld, densely vegetated dunes and wildlife.
