Pakamisa Paradise is situated in the Pakamisa Private Game Reserve, 2500 hectares of spectacular malaria-free wilderness. Mountains, valleys and ravines further extend the area of this reserve, and make for incredible views. Pakamisa Paradise guests enjoy exclusive access to this game reserve, rich in wildlife and vegetation unique to the area.
Wildlife that guests are likely to site include leopard, giraffe, zebra, waterbuck, red hartebeest, warthog, bushpig, kudu, nyala, impala, bushbuck, common reedbuck, mountain reedbuck, grey and red duiker, steenbuck, klipspringer, baboon in addition to a variety of smaller mammals, predators, reptiles and birds.
The Main House boasts an interesting fusion of African and European art and antique furniture, and the ambience is ideal for guests needing a retreat from busy urban life. The Living Room's cosy fireplace provides a great venue for meeting new people, or recounting the day's adventures with friends and families.

The Pakamisa Private Game Reserve is home to Pakamisa Lodge and consists of 2500 hectares of malaria-free veld. Over 200 species of birdlife reside in the Pakamisa Game Reserve, which makes this the perfect birdwatching venue. The Pakamisa Arabian Stud will capture the heart of even our most discerning of horse lovers. These Arabian horses hail from Andalusia in Spain, where Isabella von Stepski, renowned internationally for her Arabian expertise, once housed her entire stud from Spain to this special charming corner of Africa. These horses are prospering in the warm African environment, where the first generation of the African-born Arabians are already grazing on lush green pastures. These horses are available for riding excursions for individuals and groups alike. Horse-back safaris are conducted through the game reserve, ensuring that guests treasure their African memories for years to come. The lounge at the Pakamisa Stables is off-set by the indulgent verandah, where riders can relax with drinks and snacks before their ride. After a long day on horse-back, a hearty dinner awaits guests.
Passionate golfers are offered transport to the 9-hole golf course in Pongola, a mere 40-minute drive from Pakamisa Paradise.
The rich cultural and historical nature of Pakamisa Paradise's surrounding area provides guests with ample opportunity to indulge in sightseeing tours of the area. The origin of the Zulu people, as well as professionally-conducted tours of the battlefields of the Anglo-Zulu and Anglo-Boer wars, is exposed in charming detail. The nearby Jozini Dam is an ideal venue for the fishing enthusiast seeking a quiet getaway or challenging tousle with a Tiger Fish. Jozini is one of the largest dams in the area and houses a host of wildlife and plant species. Shuttles to and from the dam, as well as all of the necessary arrangements, will be organised by Pakamisa staff.

Pakamisa Paradise is a mere 50 km from the Indian Ocean (as the crow flies), and approximately 15 km fm Pongola, a small town just south west of the lodge.
Pakamisa Paradise is set in the sparsely populated, and is considered to be one of the most exquisite locations in the country. Comfortable seasons are guaranteed by the cool coastal breeze, and fresh, clean air is uninterrupted by industrial developments.
The easiest way to Pakamisa is via air-shuttle from Johannesburg directly to Pongola Airport (flight time approx. one hour). On landing at Pongola, we collect you directly at the airstrip. The car transfer to the lodge (approx. 30 minutes) winds through the picturesque Pongola River valley and the evergreen sugarcane plantations.
