Nkambeni Tented Lodge is unrivalled in terms of situation, as it is nestled in the heart of the world-famous Kruger National Park in South Africa. This lodge is only 10km west of Pretoriuskop Rest Camp. Entrance to Nkambeni Tented Lodge is gained via the Kruger National Park's Numbi Gate (near
White River and Hazyview).

Nkambeni Tented Lodge's permanent luxury tents are each equipped with en-suite bathrooms, air-conditioning, and an indulgent Jacuzzi on the private deck. The restaurant is truly South African in its food and hospitality. The camp also offers a variety of safaris.

Accommodation

Nkambeni Tented Lodge prioritises the protection of the area in which it lies. For this reason, the design and construction of each of the luxury suites has been executed to
ensure minimal impact on the environment. Each tent is perched atop wooden stilts to prevent damage to underlying vegetation.

Accommodation comprises 150 opulent
canvas and wooden tents. Each contains 2 divans, 2 fold-out bunk beds, an en-suite bathroom with a shower, an outdoor shower, private verandah and Jacuzzi.


The eco-friendly construction is also easy to maintain, so annual levies are
minimal. These advantages combine with the pristine environment to create an ideal holiday destination.

Facilities

The fully-equipped gymnasium, large swimming pool and Health & Beauty Spa ensure that guests remain refreshed and rejuvenated during their stay at
Nkambeni Tented Lodge. There is also a medical facility to ensure prompt and professional treatment, if necessary,

Three private Bomas are fantastic venues for traditional South African 'braais' (barbecues), while a natural Boma presents stunning views of the high African sky freckled with crystal-clear stars. The star-gazing and game-viewing deck is also a treat.

For the culturally inclined, the "time-line" museum details the history of the Kruger National Park.

For the added convenience of our guests, a full laundry, Pool Bar and Deck Bar are also available.

Activities

Tribal Dancing

Guests are offered the opportunity to observe or participate in tribal dancing, as they enjoy this truly South African art form. Nkambeni Tented Lodge's full-time Marimba band engages in Gumboot dancing and traditional Shangaan dancing, as well as drumbeat evenings on Fridays and Saturdays. These can also be booked on request at an additional charge.

Open Vehicle Safaris

Half- and full-day safaris in the Kruger Park are available to guests of Nkambeni Tented Lodge. The vehicles are designed to be as open as possible, allowing guests to engage in a close interaction with the resident animals. On request, the lodge will organise a picnic lunch for guests, which will be enjoyed at one of the Kruger National Park's picnic sites.

Nature Guide Experience

Nkambeni Tented Lodge's training team provides short lectures on tracks and signs in the wild, and experienced trainers teach guests the expertise required to track and indentify spoor. This will assist guests in the identification of fauna and flora during their game drives through Kruger National Park.

Community Tour

Nkambeni Tented Lodge as a business is a partnership between the Mhaule Rural Community and Private Capital. Our volunteers visit the local community on a regular basis in order to maintain that close relationship with them. Guests are encouraged to join these volunteers on a tour of the community to experience how their contribution to Nkambeni Tented Lodge has contributed to the sustainability of the surrounding community. The Community Tour visits the George Mhaule School, where guests learn of our feeding schemes and nutrient drink production plant. Once guests have seen first-hand how their funds assist, they are likely to enjoy getting 'hands on' as they work along with our Community Organic Farming Project. This project is completely innovative in terms of concept and design. It is supported by the South African Government, who takes an active participation in its running.

Off-site Activities

Because Nkambeni Tented Lodge is within easy driving distance of so many other tourist attractions, it is the ideal base from which to explore more of the beautiful South Africa. These attractions include the Panorama route including God's Window and Pilgrim's Rest, Chimp Eden, several major golf courses, white-water rafting facilities, horse riding farms and even a pub crawl tour.
