Namib Desert Lodge

4 STAR LODGE IN SOSSUSVLEI
NAMIB DESERT, NAMIBIA

The Namib Desert Lodge is just 60km north of Sesriem in Namibia. Conveniently situated on the C 19, this beautiful lodge lies at the foot of the protomorphic Namib's fossilised dunes. Due to this prime location, the Namib Desert Lodge is on the gateway to Sossusvlei and is close to the main road. 50 en-suite rooms are available to our esteemed guests at the lodge, and the restaurant, bar and swimming pool are perfect venues to relax after a day of sightseeing and travelling.

This area of Africa is rich in wildlife and many bird species. Guests of Namib Desert Lodge are encouraged to join a drive-through group in order to spot some of the local flora and fauna, including gemsbok, oryx antelope and springbok. The watering hole is illuminated at night in order to allow guests to spot the animals as they sip on the cool waters in the dusk hours.

After a busy day in the African desert, the terrace off the lodge's restaurant and bar provides an idyllic retreat from where to enjoy the breathtaking views of the dunes, swimming pools and landscape.

Gondwana Namib Park:

The Gondwana Namib Park is situated 60 km north of Sesriem in the famous Sossusvlei area. The entire Namib is typified by pale green shrubbery and trees dotted along dry river banks against the characteristic red of the sand dunes.
The Gondwana Namib Park extends for 100 km², and displays the interesting meeting of the fossilised sand dunes and the young, developing dunes. Some of these dunes, particularly to the west, extend for hundreds of kilometres. Visitors can look forward to sighting the gemsbok, springbok and ostrich meander on the plains. Alternatively, take a due-south drive to the Sesriem Canyon (approximately 60km) as well as Sossusvlei, which boasts the highest sand dunes in the world.

Activities

All activities should be booked at the reception desk of the Namib Desert Lodge, and are subject to availability.

Dune Drive:

Walking Trails:
For the more energetic guest, walking trails present a fantastic opportunity to get close to the natural beauty that surrounds you during your stay in the awesome Namib Desert.
