Upon arrival at the Welgevonden main gate, visitors to Mhondoro Game Lodge will receive cool refreshments and then transfer by open safari vehicle to the Lodge.

The Mhondoro Game Lodge overlooks a popular waterhole and features a large
viewing sundeck where guests can view game or relax in the sun. The refreshing swimming pool provides a welcome respite from the
heat of the day.

The central dining room, bar, outdoor boma and gym are all situated in or around the
main lodge and are easily accessible from the chalets. An entertainment centre which also serves as an exclusive venue for small corporate retreats is situated nearby, as well as a well stocked library.
Accommodation

At Mhondoro luxuriously appointed private game lodge chalets are located along the ridge overlooking the waterhole, adjacent plains and distant Waterberg mountains. The en-suite bathrooms have a choice of indoor shower, hippo sized bath or a secluded outdoor shower for a sensual "out of Africa experience".

Picnics en route or lunches at the lodge are available for those arriving mid-day. Afternoon tea is served shortly before the afternoon game drive. Four course dinners range from superb international cuisine served in the dining room to traditional outdoor barbecues in the open air boma around a wood fire. Children Policy

Please take note that the following children's policy applies at Mhondoro Game Lodge:

  • Parents are kindly asked to sit with their children during transfers to/from
the Lodge, and on game drives.
  • Children of 8 years and older may accompany parents on morning and evening game drives, provided that they adhere to the rangers instructions. Should they not adhere to the rangers' instructions, safety on the drive may be compromised and the drive will be cut short. The child/children will not be permitted on future drives.
  • No children under the age of 8 years are permitted on game drives. Whilst parents are on the morning game drive, the children will be entertained by the lodge staff, taking part in fun 'wild Africa' activities.
  • In the event that the entire lodge is booked by a family or they are the only guests booked, all the children will be permitted to accompany the family on game drives. However, rangers will not undertake dangerous sightings with very young children.
The above policy is not to inconvenience families, but to ensure that the safety and enjoyment of guests is not compromised.

Kindly note that the Lodge is not surrounded by an electric fence, and has high decks not equipped with child safe rails.
