Situated in the Southern Kruger National Park, Lion Sands is the only area having substantial access to the Sabie River, ensuring a spectacular diversity of wildlife and game viewing through both the dry and wet season. Lion Sands has exclusive access to the Sabie River which teems with wildlife. Guests have the opportunity to view a wide variety of animals passing through to quench their thirst at the water's edge.

Accommodation:

Lion Sands River Lodge & Ivory Lodge both enjoy pristine locations overlooking the magnificent Sabie River. Both lodges have been decorated in a minimalist African style, with the emphasis on coolness, light and space.

For guests seeking seclusion and privacy Ivory Lodge is recommended. Ivory Lodge is built on the banks of the Sabie River with magnificent views extending onto the open sand banks of the Kruger National Park.

Accommodation comprises of luxurious suites with en-suite bathroom, outdoor & inside shower, courtyard, lounge with fireplace, wooden viewing deck, patio & private plunge pool. The bedroom & bathroom areas are air-conditioned and have ceiling fans. All rooms have telephone and internet access. The suites are spacious and are positioned at least 20 meters apart, being linked to all areas by raised wooden walkways. All suites have breathtaking views over the Sabie River, allowing superb game viewing from the luxury of one's private suite.

The reception building is separate from the main lodge, ensuring that guests arrive and depart without compromising privacy. The main lodge & entrance building comprise a private lounge & bar, wooden viewing decks, board-room, wine cellar, gymnasium & health spa, curio shop & both an indoor and open-air (Boma) dining area.

River Lodge is known as the soul of Lion Sands. Also situated on the banks of the Sabie River amongst 800 year old trees, the Lodge enjoys magnificent views. It faces due east, catching the sun as it rises over the Kruger National Park and is well known for the warmth and friendliness of its staff.

Accommodation comprises of luxurious thatched bedrooms with en-suite bathroom, outdoor & inside shower & wooden viewing deck. The bedroom area is air-conditioned and has an overhead fan.

The lodge comprises the following: a private lounge and bar, 2 swimming pools, wooden viewing decks, a secluded bird hide, private hammocks, conference room, gymnasium & health spa, curio shop & both an indoor and open-air (Boma) dining area.

Activities:

Open Land Rover game drives, interpretive bush walks, bird watching walks, lion tracking walks, river fishing (including Tiger Fish). Picnic lunches and bush dinners are also offered.

Professionally qualified senior ecologists, rangers and tracking teams are on hand to ensure that guests experience all facets of wild Africa from the largest elephant to the smallest insect and plant.
