The Namib-Naukluft Park, only a few minutes' drive from the Le Mirage Desert Lodge and Spa is Namibia's largest park, as well as one of the largest in Africa. The Namib Desert itself is considered to be one of the oldest in the world. As the sand dunes shift over the years, this desert morphs and transforms unpredictably. The Namib Park can be divided into 1) the Namib area (between the Swakop and Kuiseb rivers), 2) Sandwich, 3) the Naukluft and the central Namib sand sea (including Sesriem) and 4) Sossusvlei. These areas each boast distinct animals and vegetation, creating a varied and abundant location.
