KICHAKA GAME LODGE, 5 STAR LODGE
EASTERN CAPE LODGE ACCOMMODATION

The luxurious Kichaka Lodge is a 5-star facility nestled within the gorgeous vegetation of South Africa's Eastern Cape. Flanked by two streams and perched within a game reserve, Kichaka boasts convenient and beautiful surrounds in Malaria-free conditions.

The outdoor dining areas provide an 'up-close-and-personal' perspective of the fauna and flora of Africa, while gourmet flavours are savoured. There are also indoor dining areas for an intimate and luxurious experience.

The rim-flow swimming pool and terraces lure weary travellers to relax and take in the sights and sounds of the beautiful surrounds, as they are positioned just above the waterhole and the expanses of stunning grassland. This sense of relaxing escapism is enhanced by excellent service and world-class hospitality.

Being set within the game reserve, guests of Kichaka are encouraged to embark on game drives and excursions with experienced and knowledgeable rangers. The park extends for 20 000 acres, and is home to the Big 5 (lions, buffaloes, rhinos, elephants and leopards) as well as hyenas, zebras, warthogs, hippos, cheetahs, giraffes and many antelope species.

Main Lodge

The Main Lodge is perched just above a popular waterhole, frequented by giraffes, elephants and their wildest contemporaries. The best views of this spot are provided from the terraces of the lodge. This building has been constructed using earthy materials like stone and thatch in order to integrate it into its natural home.
The surrounding bushveld is best enjoyed from the lounge and dining areas. An outdoor dining experience awaits the Kichaka guest in the form of an island deck. The library is elevated, situated above the lounge. This is a retreat for guests needing some quiet time to reflect, rest and watch the activities of the waterhole below. Along with books, the library also boasts a flat-screen TV on which sporting events can be viewed.

In addition, the lodge provides guests with Wi-Fi Internet connectivity at no extra cost.

The wine cellar is well stocked, brimming with a selection of premier wines for both wine connoisseurs and those who just appreciate a tasty vintage. For hot summer days in Africa, refreshing cocktails next to the pool may be more appropriate.

The campsite is safe, although being situated within the heart of the animals' habitat. This has been ensured by the inclusion of discreet, yet effective, electric fences.

Kichaka Lodge enjoys close proximity to several of South Africa's other chief attractions. It is only an hour's drive from Port Elizabeth in Nelson Mandela Bay, and transfers in comfortable vehicles are provided on request.

Game Drives

The reserve is home to many animals, including the Big 5 as well as several antelope species. The guides or rangers are experienced and trained, providing visitors with fascinating insights into the wildlife and its habitat.

Game drives are conducted in the mornings and evenings to allow guests to see the widest range of animals possible. Open game-viewing vehicles have been designed to maximise on visibility. Each drive takes from three to four hours. Morning game drives are rounded off with a cup of hot coffee, while evening drives offer sundowners.
