Set in the shadow of the Waterberg, Ekuthuleni Game Lodge is the epitome of tranquillity and luxury in the heart of the malaria-free Welgevonden Private Game Reserve, Limpopo Province. The gates of the game reserve can be reached in about 3 hours, driving from Johannesburg. The Lodge can also be reached by charter or helicopter.

Situated on sweeping savannah plains, Ekuthuleni Lodge, meaning 'place of peace',
is home to Africa's Big Five as well as many species of antelope. The surroundings of the Lodge are also home to a wide variety of bird life. Five exclusive en suite chalets provide guests with intimacy and privacy with each suite enjoying magnificent views of the surrounding game rich grasslands. Bathrooms are exceptionally luxurious, with both indoor and private outdoor showers.

Experienced game rangers conduct two daily game drives from the Lodge during which guests will be enthralled by information on the unique flora, fauna and birdlife that abounds in the Waterberg region. Enjoy an early morning game drive and watch Africa awaken in front of your eyes, then head back to the Lodge where a scrumptious breakfast awaits you. Ekuthuleni Lodge prides itself on
gourmet cuisine.

After sun-downer drinks, prepare to be enthralled once again as the darkness and mystery of the African bush envelops you on your evening game drive. Enjoy the magnificent sights as lions hunt and leopards stalk prey under cover of darkness.

Directions to the Welgevonden Game Reserve:

  • Take the N1 north to Pietersburg / Polokwane o At the Kranskop toll gate, keep left to Nylstroom / Marble Hall.
  • At the T-junction turn left towards Nylstroom / Modimolle and continue straight on for approximately 70km to Vaalwater / Mabatlane.
  • Continue through Vaalwater / Mabatlane on the Thabazinbi road for approximately 24km and turn left at the Welgevonden Main Gate. (Do not turn left at South gate or East gate.)
