Named after the African elephants, Camp Shawu will take your breath away and leave you feeling rejuvenated, refreshed and restored by the energy and experience in the African bush.

Camp Shawu captures the real spirit of Africa on the 15 000 hectare private concession in the famous Kruger National Park. Visitors to Camp Shawu can explore the African wildlife available including lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo, rhino, cheetah, hippo and crocodile.

Accommodation

Camp Shawu offers accommodation of up to 10 guests separated into the choice of 5 large rooms that overlook the Mpanamana dam. Each of the rooms offers the following features:

Directions

Guests can choose to visit Camp Shawu by air or on road - directions and information below:

By Air
  • Fly to KMIA, (nearest airport).
  • Drive to the N4 through Malelane
  • Drive and stay on the N4 for about 40km until the left turn into Komatipoort
  • Drive through the Komatipoort town towards Crocodile Bridge gate (8km)
  • Once inside the Kruger National Park, travel for 4km and cross the Vurhami Bridge.
  • Turn right at the first Shishangeni Lodge sign board onto a gravel road
  • Turn right at the second sign board for Shishangeni Lodge (no entry sign)
  • Drive for about another 10km
  • This road will take you straight to the lodge
  • Guests will be transferred from Shishangeni to Shawu Camp
By Road from the Nearest CBD
  • Drive through the Komatipoort town towards Crocodile Bridge gate (8km)
  • Once inside the Kruger National Park, travel for 4km and cross the Vurhami Bridge.
  • Turn right at the first Shishangeni Lodge sign board onto a gravel road
  • Turn right at the second sign board for Shishangeni Lodge (no entry sign)
  • Drive for about another 10km
  • This road will take you straight to the lodge. Guests will be transferred from Shishangeni to Shawu Camp.
