Situated on the banks of the Crocodile River overlooking the Kruger National Park in South Africa, the Bushwise Safari Lodge combines the real Kruger Safari experience with luxurious accommodation boasting a unique ambiance true to the safari adventure.

Guests staying at the Bushwise Safari Lodge have the opportunity to explore the Kruger National Park and the Crocodile River where a variety of wildlife often drink at the water's edge. Beautiful views over the bushveld can be enjoyed from the comfort of the upper deck, bar area and from the swimming pool.

At night, guests may experience the unique African night and hear the roar of lions, the call of hyenas and the grunting of hippos.

From the Bushwise Safari Lodge guests are offered the thrill of personalized safari excursions into the Kruger National Park in open safari vehicles to seek out the Big Five and experience all the wonders of this unique eco-system.

The South Eastern part of the Kruger National Park in South Africa is well known for its superb game viewing, with frequent sightings of lion and leopard.

The Bushwise Safari Lodge offers a variety of safari activities such as guided game walks in the Kruger Park with an experienced guide, half day safaris, night safaris, bird watching walks and tiger fishing on the Komati River as well as excursions to places of interest in the area and the neighboring states of Mozambique and Swaziland.

1) Full day game drive - Kruger National Park
The full day game drive takes approximately 8 hours. These are conducted in the Kruger National Park in open safari vehicles, with the choice of brunch either at one of the park's exquisite campsites, overlooking the Crocodile River, or overlooking one of the water holes in the Kruger Park, prepared especially for guests you by the experienced guide.

2) Sunset game drive - Kruger National Park
A Sunset drive into the Kruger National Park - where entertainment will be provided by the nocturnal animals populating the Park. Kruger Guide, to be booked in advance, minimum 2 people.

3) Morning walk - Kruger National Park
Morning walk into the Kruger Park with armed ranger - look in awe at an African sunrise at its incomparable best. Kruger Guide, to be booked in advance, minimum 2 people

4) African Cultural Village
Visit the African Cultural Village at the nearby Swaziland border, cuisine lunch included. No passport necessary. Minimum 4 people

5) Tiger Fishing
Half day Tiger Fishing from a boat on the Komati River. An experienced skipper caters for the novice or experienced fisherman. 4 hours or less, to be booked in advance, minimum 2 people

6) Horse riding
Horse riding on a game farm for 3 hours or 1 hour enjoying the lovely scenery of the bush and its animals.

7) Elephant Experience

Elephant Experience where the elephants entertain you with their exceptional intelligence (30 and 60 minutes). To be booked in advance, minimum 2 people
8) Micro light flights
Micro light flights: Fly with the eagles with the wind in your hair above our captivating Bushveld (15, 30 or 60 minutes). To be booked in advance, minimum 2 people

9) Full day cultural-and historical tour to Maputo

Full day cultural-and historical tour to Maputo, the capital of Mozambique. Lunch, overlooking the ocean, for guests own account. Visa fees not included. To be booked in advance, minimum 2 people

10) Full day excursions to the Panoramic route in Mpumalanga
Full day excursions to the Panoramic route. Visit the Blyde River Canyon, God's Window, Bourke's Luck Potholes and the historic mining town Pilgrims Rest. To be booked in advance, minimum 4 persons

Directions to the Bushwise Safari Lodge / Marloth Park from Johannesburg and Nelspruit

  • When leaving OR Tambo Johannesburg International Airport follow the road signs onto the N12 freeway heading towards Witbank.
  • The N12 then joins the N4 freeway at the bypass to the town of Witbank going towards the city of Middelburg and then Nelspruit.
  • Keep on the N4 through Nelspruit, towards Malelane and Maputo (Mozambique).
  • After Nelspruit continue on the N4 going through the towns of Malelane and then Hectorspruit (on the left of the N4).
  • About 9km after Hectorspruit you will see a sign that reads Marloth Park, turn left off the N4 onto a dirt road.
  • After 5km you will come to an entrance gate to Marloth Park.
  • You are now on a tar road. About 8 km further you will find a road sign on your right hand side that reads Waterbok Street. Turn left.
  • Continue for about 100m; turn right into Swartwitpens street at the Y-junction.
  • Turn left into Njala Street and continue until you see a T-junction with the river and Kruger Park in front of you.
  • Turn right 5m before the T-junction at the Bushwise Safaris and Lodge sign.
